Home guard on duty dies in road mishap

first_imgHyderabad: In a tragic road accident, a home guard who was on duty at Begumpet was killed on Sunday. The deceased was identified as S Prabhakar (30), a resident of Medak. According to T S Uma Maheshwar Rao, SHO, Begumpet Police Station, at about 10:30 am on Sunday when the victim was performing duty at P & T Junction at Begumpet, a Tata Winger car which was coming from Rasoolpura towards Panjagutta lost its control and hit the home guard. Also Read – Hyderabad: Intermediate student dies of cardiac arrest in class Advertise With Us The incident occurred as the vehicle driver, reportedly Ravi, suddenly developed convulsions and lost control over the vehicle and after hitting the home guard dragged him for about 100 meters and stopped after hitting the pole due to which he sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The vehicle also hit another 4 bike riders who also sustained injuries. Police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the injured to the nearby private hospital.last_img
