DONEGAL DRIVING INSTRUCTOR’S UNIQUE BID TO SAVE LIVES THIS CHRISTMAS

first_imgA Donegal driving instructor has come up with a unique method of promoting this year’s Road Safety Christmas Message.Diane Harvey has went the extra mile to help get the message of safety across to drivers.A series of brief video clips has been recorded by members of the local community, emphasising different aspects of road safety. The idea is the brainchild of D’ School of Motoring in Killybegs. There are messages from local bikers, a Garda Sergeant, a road accident survivor, a newly-qualified young driver, a psychologist who deals with young drivers referred by the Courts Service, and a local County Councillor.Since establishing D’s School of Motoring nearly three years ago, Diane Harvey has made road safety her priority. Her objective is simply to save lives and, with her, this is not a short-term campaign; it is a lifetime project, day-in, day-out, at her work, online or socialising.“I was delighted with the response I received when I asked members of the community to get involved”, said proprietor, Diane Harvey. “I firmly believe that communities working together saves lives. She added: “Everyone involved has given their time and effort voluntarily. I am very grateful to each and every one of them, especially Evan Bourke and Kevin McCloskey of Minute Hand Media, who produced the videos. “I would make a special appeal to businesses and others with websites and facebook pages to link to these videos and help spread the road safety message. These are real people, real stories, real lives. And I believe they can make a real difference”, said Diane.Individual clips will be released every couple of days between now and the New Year. And, as well as being available on D’s School of Motoring Road Safety Christmas Campaign facebook page, the messages can be viewed on YouTube. DONEGAL DRIVING INSTRUCTOR’S UNIQUE BID TO SAVE LIVES THIS CHRISTMAS was last modified: December 23rd, 2014 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img
