first_imgSpring will be fast forwarding into summer this weekend as Ireland looks set to bask in 20C temperatures and several days of sunshine.Beautiful weather is on the way for Friday and Saturday in Donegal, so get the garden furniture dusted off and the beach blankets out!A warm African air plume will reach Ireland to bring temperatures up to 20C in parts. While much of Donegal is enjoying a bright and sunny morning today, the good weather will be here in earnest from Thursday. Forecasters have guaranteed the sunshine is coming to all areas of the country. The highest temperatures are due over the east and south of Ireland, but by Saturday there should be hot and humid conditions everywhere.We’ll have to enjoy the sunny spell while it lasts, as the heat is expected to cause thundery downpours on Saturday, before a rainy start to Sunday. Guests can choose to cycle around Cologne; wheel their way to world-famous Erbach Monastery; take a trail to Fortress Marienburg in Würzburg; stop for a much needed beer on a bike tour to Bamberg; take a cycling excursion to Wallhalla; ride to the ruins of Dürnstein, and pedal the streets of Vienna.The new cycling experiences are offered as sightseeing options throughout the cruise, which also features APT’s three exclusive Royal Signature Experiences: a journey aboard the luxurious Majestic Imperator train: a private visit to Namedy Castle; and a private musical soiree at Vienna’s newly refurbished City Palace.Priced from $8695 per person, twin share, APT is offering a choice of four departure dates in 2017 for this new cruise: 30 April, 14 May, 17 September and 1 October. APT is offering the chance to Fly to Europe for just $995 when you book this cruise by 31 August 2016.Bordeaux by BicycleAPT has also introduced its new eight-day Bordeaux by Bicycle river cruise. Aimed at more experienced cyclists, APT will fit guests out with their own quality carbon road bike prior to setting sail.Four cycling experiences are on offer. In Bordeaux there’s the chance to cycle the Roger Lapébie cycle path, taking a winding valley route passing by local towns, historic ruins, châteaux and vineyards. When the ship stops in Pauillac the cycle route allows guests to stop for cheese and wine tastings. They can also follow the Dordogne on another route. There is also the opportunity to explore the vineyards of Bergerac by bicycle.These cycling additions have been paired to perfectly complement APT’s already unforgettable Bordeaux river cruise, highlights of which include APT’s new Royal Signature Experience: a special visit to Château de Cazeneuve, once home of the Kings of Navarre and later King Henri IV of France and his wife Queen Margot.
